Scholarships

Each year, Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego (PALSD) grants scholarships to eligible law students to assist in the costs of law school and/or costs associated with the California State Bar Examination. 

Eligible individuals must:​

  • Be a current 3L student or a recent graduate from any accredited law school in San Diego County; and

  • Personally attend the PALSD Annual Dinner to receive the scholarship in May of each year. 

 

Selection factors include, but are not limited to:​

  • Service and commitment to the advancement of the Asian American legal community;

  • Service and commitment to the Asian American community at large;

  • Dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal field;

  • Service to underprivileged communities and those with inadequate access to the legal system;

  • Financial need, as described in #8 and #9 of Page 2 of the Scholarship Application;

  • Post law school goals; residence and intent to remain in San Diego a plus;

  • Interview (by phone or in person) at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.

All scholarship applicants will be notified of their status by the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship recipients will also be notified in writing.

The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to update the selection factors from year-to-year. The criteria for each year's scholarship will be published on an annual basis as the scholarship application process opens.
