Scholarships

Each year, Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego (PALSD) grants scholarships to eligible law students to assist in the costs of law school and/or costs associated with the California State Bar Examination.
​
Eligible individuals must:​

Be a current 3L student or a recent graduate from any accredited law school in San Diego County; and
-
Personally attend the PALSD Annual Dinner to receive the scholarship in May of each year.
Selection factors include, but are not limited to:​

Financial need
-
Academic achievement, work experience, and extracurricular activities
-
Past, current, and future public service to the Asian/Pacific Islander community and other diverse communities, including past and/or current participation in PALSD, as a heavily weighed factor
-
Post law school goals
-
When the applicant intends to take the California State Bar Examination
-
Domicile (residence plus intent to remain) in San Diego as a plus
-
Interview (by phone or in-person) at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.

All scholarship applicants will be notified of their status by the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship recipients will also be notified in writing.
​
The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to update the selection factors from year-to-year. The criteria for each year's scholarship will be published on an annual basis as the scholarship application process opens.
