Bar Stipends​

 

Each year, Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego (PALSD) grants bar exam stipends to eligible law students to assist with costs associated with the California State Bar Examination.  For 2026, PALSD will grant up to three (3) bar stipends to eligible individual(s).

Eligible individuals must:​

  • 1) Be a current 3L student or recent graduate in May, August, or December 2026 (within a year) from any accredited law school in San Diego County; and

  • 2) Personally attend the PALSD’s Annual Dinner on May 12, 2026, and provide a professional
    headshot and brief biography to receive the bar stipend.

 

Selection factors include, but are not limited to:​

• Service and commitment to the advancement of the Asian American legal community;
• Service and contribution to PALSD;
• Service and commitment to the Asian American community at-large;
• Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal field;
• Service to underprivileged communities and those with inadequate access to the legal
system;
• Financial need;
• Post law school goals, including residence and intent to remain in San Diego;
• Interview (by phone or in person) at the discretion of the Committee.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2026, AT 11:59 P.M.

The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to update the selection factors from year-to-year. The criteria for each year's scholarship will be published on an annual basis as the scholarship application process opens.​
